My Story
Music has been my passion for as long as I can remember. I started singing in church at four years old, and by 14, was touring North America with my cousins as an inaugural member of The Proverbs, a Canadian gospel group. During my time with The Proverbs we recorded six albums in Canada and the US. Those early years shaped my love for music and performance.
In the late 1970s, I opened my first recording studio in Belleville, Ontario, working on film soundtracks, commercial jingles, and album projects. During this time I formed Cedar Creek, a country crossover band with gospel roots. After signing with legendary manager Jim Halsey of Tulsa, Oklahoma I moved to Nashville and toured with Alabama, The Oak Ridge Boys, Ronnie Milsap, Willie Nelson, and Reba McEntire, to name a few, gaining a strong following across North America.
In 1984 I returned to Canada and signed a publishing deal with RCA/BMG Records as a solo artist, writing, recording, and releasing chart-topping songs while also writing for other award-winning Canadian artists. In 1997, I re-established my recording studio as part of Pinnacle Music Studios in downtown Belleville.
In 2019 I was invited to join the cast of Return to Grace, a musical honouring the life of Elvis. Portraying the baritone singer in the Jordanaires, The Imperials and the Stamps Quartet backing Elvis has brought me back to my love of Southern Gospel.
Reconnecting with old friends and returning to my gospel roots has been an incredible experience, bringing my musical journey full circle.
